A trip with Classic Catalunya is a journey back to a quieter time before the digital age, a time when people traveled in style, and when travel was equal to discovering new places. When you travel with us, we will take you away from the crowds, to places that lie along the road less traveled. Places where things are done the way they were always done for centuries, where food is locally grown and the recipes to prepare it are passed on from one generation to another. You will stay in small villages in a family run hotel or a small Bed and Breakfast, take your time in the mornings and when you are ready, you will go on another adventure to discover medieval towns, swim in natural pools at the bottom of waterfalls, follow a hiking trail to the most stunning view and drive along these beautiful winding roads and mountain passes. When you travel with Classic Catalunya you will be your own guide, and even your car will be classic!

your choice
It all depends on how you like to spend your hard earned days off. With Classic Catalunya, you will not be lying on a random beach during the day, only to go to a random bar at night, and repeat the next day. When you travel with us, we will take you to unique places, you will stay in little hotels or bed & breakfasts, where you can engage with the owners and truly experience the mediterranean and pyrenean way of life. No time to secretly check your work emails!
unplug and unwind
As we mentioned already, we like to take our customers back to the analog era, when life was not dictated by emails, agendas and mobile phones. Unplug and open your eyes to a different way. The only appointment you will have to keep is your appointment with the lunch and dinner table every day, and it's not a very strict appointment... In Catalonia people take their meals very serious, but time stretches to accomodate you, not the other way around.
relax and travel in style
This means you will drive from breakfast to lunch and from lunch to dinner, all interlaced with winding roads and beautiful sights. The only care you'll have will be to follow the roadbook, which will lead you on your way. Navigating by GPS is way too modern for us! But don't worry, we've made it really easy. Apart from your itinerary, the roadbook also contains lots of extra information such as lunch and dinner recommendations, sightseeing tips, information on things to do, hiking trails, and some extra routes if you're still up for it. Or if you're not, it will tell you how to get to the best spa in town. It's basically your personal assistant that doesn't talk back.

Old Roads
When you travel with us, the road book leads you along the old roads. Especially closer to the Pyrennees, often times these have long since been replaced by more modern roads that are much straighter and have tunnels and bridges, but we like to use the old mountain passes. They are usually in perfect condition and the only people you will come across are normally the people that live in the few villages on the mountain.
Small towns
Driving along the old roads in one of our classic cars, you will come across small towns, often not larger than a few hundred inhabitants, sometimes not even that. These are areas that are untouched by modern development, where nothing ever changes and life is just the same as it was 40 years ago. Arriving in these towns in one of our cars will not disturb anything in that picture, it will only enhance it!
original culture
These old towns are filled to the brim with tradition. This is really the best way to get a taste of the real Catalan culture. Romanesque churches, abbeys, old city centers and if you're lucky, you'll run into one of the many local festivities of the region. Almost every town has their own "festa major", the town's annual party, and many of these parties are celebrated in a way that is unique to that very town or region.

A paradise for gourmets
Catalonia is a mountainous area and borders on the sea. Its local cuisine reflects that perfectly, and often ingredients from the sea and the mountains are mixed together in one delicious dish. People used to eat what was available to them, and what was fresh, combined with some foods that could be stored dry, like sausage and ham. Nowadays the food is still very seasonal: Calcots and lamb in spring, stews with sturdy wintery vegetables, mushrooms and chestnuts in autumn and fish and seafood in summertime.
Spain has a relatively high number of Michelin-star restaurants, many of them in Catalunya. This may or may not be to your liking, but the fact is that when there are so many high quality restaurants around, the bar is set higher for all restaurants and the quality standards increase. Ask us about the possibilities to visit one, quite a few are already close to the routes we offer.
